""North East Sales Dist., Inc." The bulldog was conceived by Frank Sinkwich, Jr. as a marketing tool to draw customers to a display within a large supermarket setting. The composition evolved from a sitting with Spike, the model, who was on the cover of Sports Illustrated as Uga, the University of Georgia’s mascot. The sculpture represents the ferocious competitive spirit of both the bulldog itself and the various sports endeavors of the college. The sculptures are rotated throughout the southeast in stores such as Wal-mart, Costco, Publix, Sam’s Club, and Kroger. |
